Institute Charter

The operating rules for the Raeburn Institute for Enterprise Technology.

Purpose

  • Improve decision quality around enterprise AI, automation, digital transformation and technology governance.
  • Publish useful evidence, methods, templates and technical thinking at no charge where practical.
  • Contribute practical evidence to public-interest policy and standards discussions.

Research integrity

  • Separate observed, estimated and modelled values.
  • State source types, collection periods, assumptions and limitations.
  • Correct material errors transparently and date revisions.
  • Do not fabricate samples, citations, peer review or external endorsement.

Commercial transparency

  • Disclose material vendor, referral or commercial relationships relevant to a publication.
  • Institute outputs may support Raeburn Consulting's commercial work, but commercial benefit does not convert opinion into evidence.
  • Technology recommendations remain subject to the Technology Independence Charter.

Editorial control

  • Named authors remain responsible for their work.
  • External reviewers are identified only with explicit consent.
  • Review does not imply endorsement beyond the material actually reviewed.
  • Commercial teams cannot rewrite research findings to improve sales claims without transparent editorial revision.

Advisory Council

  • The Council is advisory, not a statutory board.
  • Members provide challenge, expertise and perspective but do not manage Raeburn Consulting.
  • Membership, role, conflicts and tenure are disclosed with consent.
  • No individual is listed before explicit acceptance.

Use of name

  • The Institute must not be described as a university, accredited research institute, regulator, charity or independent public body.
  • The Institute name must not be used to imply certification, approval or external validation that has not occurred.
