ATS vs CRM
An ATS primarily manages vacancies, applications and candidate process; a CRM manages relationships, pipelines and commercial activity. Recruitment platforms often combine both, so architecture should follow the system-of-record role rather than the product label.
Practical considerations
- • Define which records each system owns
- • Avoid duplicate candidate/client masters
- • Map reporting and integration before buying another module
- • Judge workflow fit, not category labels
