Raeburn Consulting Environmental Commitment

Last reviewed

Applies to
Business operations, consulting delivery, digital tools, travel, resources, suppliers, and future growth

Raeburn Consulting is committed to building a responsible, low-waste, digital-first, and remote-first consulting business.

We recognise that every business has an environmental impact, including businesses that operate mainly online. Digital tools, AI systems, devices, cloud services, travel, and purchasing decisions all have environmental consequences.

Our aim is to reduce unnecessary waste, avoid unnecessary travel, use technology proportionately, and build stronger environmental standards as the business grows.

Our Environmental Principles

Raeburn Consulting aims to follow these principles:

  • Remote-first delivery where practical
  • Digital-first documentation
  • Reduced unnecessary travel
  • Minimal paper usage
  • Proportionate use of AI and digital tools
  • Responsible hardware and device usage
  • Preference for efficient systems and suppliers where possible
  • Ongoing review of environmental impact as the business grows

Remote-First And Digital-First Delivery

Raeburn Consulting primarily delivers work remotely through:

  • Online consultations
  • Workflow reviews
  • CRM assessments
  • Strategy sessions
  • Written reports
  • Digital documents
  • Remote implementation support
  • Follow-up calls and documentation

This approach helps reduce unnecessary travel and office-based resource use.

Paper And Waste Reduction

Raeburn Consulting aims to use digital documents instead of printed materials wherever practical. We aim to reduce:

  • Printed proposals
  • Printed reports
  • Unnecessary paperwork
  • Single-use materials
  • Avoidable office waste

Where printing is necessary, we will aim to keep it proportionate.

Responsible Technology Use

As an AI automation consultancy, we recognise that digital tools and AI systems can have environmental costs through energy usage, cloud computing, and device infrastructure.

Our approach is to use AI practically and proportionately.

We aim to avoid using complex AI systems where a simpler process, template, rule, or automation would be more suitable.

Travel

Where practical, Raeburn Consulting will prioritise remote meetings and online collaboration.

In-person meetings may still be appropriate where they provide clear value, but unnecessary travel will be avoided where remote delivery can achieve the same outcome.

Suppliers And Tools

As the business grows, Raeburn Consulting will aim to consider environmental responsibility when choosing:

  • Software tools
  • Hosting providers
  • Digital platforms
  • Devices
  • Office equipment
  • Contractors and suppliers

This will be developed over time as the company grows.

Environmental Measurement

Raeburn Consulting is beginning to build its environmental approach and intends to improve measurement over time.

Future actions may include:

  • Reviewing digital tool usage
  • Assessing travel impact
  • Reviewing supplier choices
  • Using small business climate tools
  • Publishing simple annual environmental updates
  • Building towards stronger environmental standards as part of the company's B Corp journey

What We Do Not Claim

Raeburn Consulting does not currently claim to be:

  • Carbon neutral
  • Net zero
  • Climate positive
  • Certified sustainable
  • Environmentally certified

Any future environmental claims will be made carefully and only where supported by appropriate evidence.

Review

This environmental commitment will be reviewed as the business grows and as better measurement becomes available.
